People think of these bird pins as jewelry, but I think of them as little "presences" you can wear. A Chickadee Pin might become an emissary to cheer up a sad friend. A Heron Pin might be sent to say "Thank you" to someone who has shown you a kindness. Or, when one of your favorite people deserves a treat (this might even include yourself!) these little guys are happy to do your bidding!
